Part oneWhy It Loads So Slowly

In 1873 the Army adopted a revolver everybody ended up calling the Peacemaker. It was single action: the trigger only drops the hammer, so you thumb the hammer back before every single shot.

And there was no cylinder that swung out. You flipped a small gate on the right of the frame and pushed the empties out one at a time with a rod under the barrel. Then you fed six fresh ones back in through the same gate.

1. Half-cockHammer back to the first click. The cylinder turns freely.
2. Load sixA soft dart into each brass shell, then each shell into a chamber.
3. Thumb and fireCock the hammer for every shot. Six, then you are empty.
4. Open the gatePush the shells back out. Start again.

If it threw the brass out by itself the whole thing would be over in three seconds, and nobody would still be doing it a year later.

Part twoBuilt To Be Held, Not Feared

Black polymer frame, wood-grain grip with a silver medallion, and a bright orange muzzle that does not come off. The darts are soft foam you can catch out of the air.
